Singer D4vd Pleads Not Guilty in Celeste Rivas Hernandez Murder Case as Shocking Allegations Surface

Los Angeles prosecutors accuse the 21-year-old singer of killing a 14-year-old girl to silence her, while the artist denies all charges in court

Los Angles: Singer D4vd has pleaded not guilty to murder and other serious charges in the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, as prosecutors laid out disturbing allegations in a Los Angeles courtroom.

The 21-year-old artist, whose legal name is David Burke, appeared in court facing charges that include first-degree murder, allegations involving a minor and accusations linked to the handling of the victim’s remains. A judge ordered that he remain in custody without bail.

Prosecutors allege Burke killed the teenager to prevent her from reporting an alleged sexual relationship, a claim the defense strongly disputes.

According to investigators, the victim was last believed to have been alive in April 2025, while her remains were later discovered inside a Tesla registered to the singer. The case had remained largely under sealed investigation for months before charges were formally announced.

The prosecution has alleged special circumstances tied to the murder count that could elevate the severity of the case, though authorities have not yet stated whether they will seek the death penalty.

Defense attorney Blair Berk told the court the evidence would show Burke did not kill the teenager and pushed for the facts to be tested publicly as the case moves forward.

The case has drawn intense attention due to the gravity of the allegations and Burke’s public profile, with the singer having built a major following through viral success and charting music releases.

Further hearings are expected as the court considers the next stage of proceedings.
