New Delhi, August 23, 2026; The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Cultus Education have launched a nationwide programme to expand access to cloud computing and artificial intelligence skills, with support from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The initiative aims to provide basic cloud and AI learning to 1.5 lakh participants, while 10,000 selected learners will undergo advanced, employment-focused training through the AWS re/Start programme. The initiative will particularly focus on young people from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved communities across India.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Jayant Chaudhary, said widening access to emerging technology skills would be important for building an inclusive workforce and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Under the programme, learners will be able to access online AWS training resources and develop foundational knowledge in cloud and AI at their own pace. Eligible participants can subsequently move into structured AWS re/Start training, covering areas such as cloud infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, programming and databases.
The programme will be delivered entirely online through Cultus Education, enabling participants from smaller cities and towns to undertake industry-oriented training without relocating to major metropolitan centres.

Participants completing the intensive training will have the opportunity to earn an AWS Certification and receive support in accessing relevant employment opportunities through employer connections. Practical exercises, hands-on labs and scenario-based learning will form part of the training process.
The initiative will conclude with a National Hackathon, where participants will present technology-based solutions and demonstrate their cloud and AI capabilities before industry representatives and potential employers.
AWS APJC Lead for Skilling and Social Impact Rani Burchmore said the partnership would help create new pathways into cloud careers while supporting organisations in developing a skilled technology workforce.
Cultus Education Group Managing Director Nalin Singh said the programme was focused on taking globally relevant technology skills beyond India’s major urban centres and connecting learning with certification and career opportunities.
NSDC Chief Operating Officer Prashant Sinha was also present during the launch.
The programme is expected to strengthen technology skilling opportunities in emerging talent hubs and create wider access to career pathways in India‘s growing cloud and AI ecosystem.
