Sampurna Leads Human Chain at India Gate to Support Women’s Reservation Law

Campaign backs Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, highlights 33% quota as a step toward inclusive governance

New Delhi : Today, Delhi-based renowned organization Sampurna, committed to women empowerment, under the leadership of its Founder President Dr. Shobha Vijender, organized a human chain at India Gate, New Delhi, to express gratitude for the successful implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Several social organizations from Delhi participated in the campaign to extend their thanks and appreciation to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

The primary objective of the human chain was to convey best wishes for the success of the special session of Parliament scheduled from 16th–18th April, 2026, and to support the government’s efforts in overcoming all obstacles in the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.

More than 300 women stood under the scorching sun, raising slogans in appreciation of the Prime Minister. Men also actively supported the campaign by distributing pamphlets highlighting the essence of the Act at India Gate. Participants expressed their gratitude with slogans such as “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam – Jai Ho” and “Nari ki Suraksha ho – Har Pehlu par Raksha ho”, creating an energetic and inspiring atmosphere.

To spread awareness about this historic legislation, Sampurna initiated this campaign in collaboration with various social organizations. Large banners placed around India Gate attracted the attention of passersby, many of whom joined and became part of the movement.

While interacting with the media, Dr. Shobha Vijender said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam is not just a law but a transformative step that ensures equal rights, respect, and participation of women in national decision-making. She emphasized that women have always played a crucial role in nation-building, and now, with 33% representation in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, their voices will be directly reflected in policymaking, making governance more sensitive and inclusive.

She further added that women’s leadership is not limited to women-centric issues but contributes significantly to areas like education, healthcare, safety, and social justice, truly embodying the spirit of “Sarvajan Hitay – Sarvajan Sukhay.”

In her concluding remarks, she appealed to everyone to understand the importance of this initiative and help spread awareness so that it becomes the foundation of real social transformation and contributes to India’s vision of becoming a global leader.

Women participants in the campaign expressed that this Act will enable women to move beyond limited roles and actively participate in national leadership in larger numbers. It is noteworthy that the Act was passed by both Houses of Parliament in September 2023, and on April 8, 2026, the Union Cabinet approved two important amendments to facilitate its implementation from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

The campaign witnessed participation from several eminent personalities and organizations, including Nidhi Goel from FICCI FLO, Rashmi Goyla from Bharat Vikas Parishad, former councillor Anju Jain, renowned dental expert Dr. Ekta Chaddha, Avinash Jain from Mayka Foundation, Sanjay Gautam from Anubhuti Organization, students from Delhi University, women from the Muslim community, and beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, and office bearers of Sampurna.

All participants collectively pledged to take this campaign to every household in Delhi so that, in the coming years, girls from ordinary families can proudly aspire to become MLAs and Members of Parliament.
