She stated that women’s empowerment has emerged as a key pillar of governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with strong focus on dignity, safety, and equal opportunity.The Chief Minister said India has progressed significantly over the years, moving beyond historical social challenges such as child marriage, illiteracy, and female foeticide, toward a more empowered and inclusive society.

She highlighted that government initiatives like Swachh Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, and Jan Dhan financial inclusion have played an important role in improving the quality of life for women across the country.Rekha Gupta said that women today are actively contributing across sectors, including education, administration, defence, and aviation, reflecting a major shift in social and institutional participation.

She noted that the progress made since 2014 has placed women’s welfare and safety at the centre of policy making and development planning.The Chief Minister praised women leaders holding key portfolios at the national level, stating that their leadership reflects growing trust in women’s capabilities in governance and administration.
She specifically referred to the increasing representation of women in high responsibility roles as a sign of changing perceptions about leadership and gender equality.Rekha Gupta described the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ as a historic reform, stating that it will pave the way for greater participation of women in Parliament and state legislatures.

She said the provision of reservation for women in elected bodies will open leadership opportunities for a large section of women across the country.
According to her, the reform will significantly strengthen women led development and ensure greater involvement in policy formulation and governance.The Chief Minister also said that empowering women politically will have a long term impact on social and economic progress in India.

She appealed to women to actively support the initiative and participate in strengthening the vision of inclusive growth.Rekha Gupta emphasized that women’s participation in decision making is essential for achieving balanced and sustainable national development.

She also highlighted that awareness campaigns and outreach efforts are crucial for ensuring wider understanding of empowerment programmes.
The event was attended by Union Minister Annapurna Devi, Minister of State Savitri Thakur, and National Commission for Women Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar along with women representatives from across the country.The Sammelan reflected the government’s continued focus on expanding opportunities for women and strengthening their role in nation building.
