16th All India Police Commando Competition Concludes at NSG Manesar

ITBP tops Commando event; Force One Maharashtra leads Sniper category as 847 elite commandos compete over 12 days of high-intensity operational assessment

The 16th All India Police Commando Competition (AIPCC) concluded today at the NSG Garrison, Manesar, marking the culmination of 12 days of intensive operational assessment. Conducted from 16 to 28 February 2026, the competition brought together 24 commando teams comprising 847 commandos from State Police Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and the National Security Guard.

Sniper event was also conducted as part of the competition, providing a national platform to benchmark tactical capability and operational standards.

Throughout the competition, teams were evaluated in precision shooting, sniper skills, endurance tasks, tactical planning, special intervention drills and survival exercises under realistic and high-pressure conditions.

The Closing Ceremony featured a high-intensity operational demonstration by NSG showcasing counter-terror response drills, coordinated tactical interventions and precision engagement in simulated high-risk scenarios. A display of specialised weapons and modern equipment was also organised, highlighting operational readiness and technological preparedness.

Addressing the gathering, the Director General, NSG, congratulated all participating teams for their professionalism and discipline. He stated that such competitions provide an important opportunity for learning, sharing best practices and improving interoperability across forces. In the Commando Competition, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) secured first position, followed by NSG in second place and Andhra Pradesh Police in third position. In the Sniper Competition, Force One, Maharashtra Police secured first place, followed by NSG in second position and the Special Protection Group (SPG) in third position. Winning teams and individual performers were felicitated with trophies and medals during the ceremony. Ranger Ravinder Singh of SWS, NSG, recorded the best timing in the Cheetah Competition (Obstacle Course) with a time of 07 minutes and 37 seconds.

The DG appreciated the efforts of the NSG conducting officials, the organising committee, the technical committee and the jury for ensuring fair and professional conduct of the event under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board. He reiterated that, in line with the National Counter Terrorism Policy and Strategy (PRAHAAR), NSG functions as the Nodal Counter Terrorism Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs with responsibility for capacity building of State Police Forces and CAPFs.
