NEW DELHI :Investigations into a suspected cross-border terror network have revealed that a key handler was in continuous touch with operatives linked to a Bangladesh-based module, according to sources in the Delhi Police.
Officials familiar with the probe said digital evidence suggests frequent exchanges between the handler and individuals allegedly involved in coordinating activities across the border. The communication is believed to have included encrypted messaging platforms and internet-based calling services to avoid detection.
Sources indicated that the suspected module had been under surveillance for some time, with intelligence inputs pointing to attempts at recruitment and logistical planning. The handler, reportedly operating from outside India, is suspected of guiding local operatives and facilitating resources.
The case came to light following a series of coordinated raids conducted in parts of the national capital. Electronic devices, documents and other materials have been seized for forensic examination. Investigators are analysing call data records and financial trails to establish the full scope of the network.
While officials have not disclosed specific operational details citing security reasons, they maintained that the situation is under control and there is no immediate threat to public safety.
Further action, including possible arrests and coordination with central agencies, is expected as the investigation progresses.
