New Delhi : Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asserted that the Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to making India the third-largest economy in the world by 2027. Speaking at the 56th Raising Day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), he acknowledged the vital role played by the CISF in national development, safeguarding key installations, and ensuring security at critical infrastructure across the country.
Mr. Shah congratulated the all-women CISF battalion, praising their dedication and contribution to the force. He highlighted the Government’s efforts in modernizing the CISF by introducing state-of-the-art facilities to tackle contemporary security challenges. He also emphasized the crucial role of Tamil Nadu in the country’s economic and developmental progress, acknowledging its contributions in various sectors.
Addressing the well-being of CISF personnel, Mr. Shah reiterated that the Government is committed to ensuring their health and welfare. He mentioned that millets have been incorporated into their diet to promote better nutrition. Furthermore, he stated that the Government is providing comprehensive healthcare to the families of all three lakh CISF personnel, ensuring their well-being and medical needs are met.
The Home Minister also spoke about initiatives aimed at improving the mental health of CISF personnel. He highlighted the ‘Mann’ program, a scheme designed to support and protect the mental well-being of security personnel. He emphasized the importance of a sound mental health framework, recognizing the stress and challenges faced by those in the security forces.
Additionally, Mr. Shah lauded the CISF’s participation in the Prime Minister’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ movement, an environmental initiative encouraging tree plantation. He emphasized that environmental sustainability is an important part of national progress and commended the force for its involvement in ecological conservation efforts.
He further elaborated on the CISF’s significant role in ensuring the security of over one crore people daily across vital establishments, including airports, metro networks, government buildings, and industrial zones. He expressed gratitude for the force’s unwavering commitment to national security and development.
