NDMC Unveils Multi-Pronged Initiatives to Foster Holistic Development of its Students

NEW DELHI, 19 JUNE: In a significant stride toward nurturing the all-round development of its students, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has unveiled a series of innovative initiatives targeting summer vacations and beyond aimed at fostering scientific, artistic, cultural and experiential learning for students enrolled in NDMC schools.

As part of this holistic approach, NDMC organized a 5-day Science Summer Camp in collaboration with the National Science Centre (NSC), at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The camp has drawn enthusiastic participation from 100 selected students across various NDMC schools.

The camp offered an engaging mix of hands-on modules, including Scientific Toy Making, Astro Lab, Fun with Physics, and Basics of Biotechnology. These activities are designed to spark curiosity, foster scientific inquiry, and impart practical knowledge, aligning with NDMC’s mission to deliver innovative and experiential education.

This is a step towards nurturing future scientists and innovators with exposure to real-world applications of science and empower them with knowledge that extends beyond the classroom.

In another landmark move to enhance creative and cultural learning, the NDMC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA). This collaboration aims to promote artistic expression and visual literacy among students through structured workshops, museum visits and curated programs guided by professional artists and curators.

Apart from this, Summer Workshops with Sahitya Kala Parishad (Delhi Government) and NCZCC (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) have been conducted for students in schools focusing music, theatre, Dance, fine arts including dedicated Kathak and folk art workshop

These efforts reflect NDMC’s unwavering commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with 21st-century skills, creativity, and a scientific outlook.
