CM Emphasises Moral Values and Sports to Tackle Social Issues in Telangana

Hyderabad, July 14 :  Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy addressed the Student Voluntary Policing Programme at JNTU on Saturday evening, emphasizing the importance of moral values and sports in tackling social issues.

Reddy attributed increasing negative tendencies in society to the pervasive use of technology. He suggested that keeping children away from mobile phones could prevent many problems. Highlighting the collapse of the family system as a cause of psychological weakness in children, the CM advocated for the benefits of joint family systems in fostering mentally strong children.

To build resilience in children, Reddy recommended teaching social and community policing. He urged schools and colleges to encourage students to participate in moral policing and called for the development of a system to monitor behavioral changes in students.

The state government has decided to promote sports by establishing a sports stadium in every assembly constituency. Reddy mentioned that important decisions would be taken to encourage athletes in the future. He also emphasized the urgent need for NSS volunteers in schools and colleges to help the state become drug-free. The government has declared a war on drugs and aims to develop a network to provide instant information to the police.

The CM called for the implementation of a moral policing system in all intermediate and degree colleges, similar to the system in Kerala, to address various issues. He stated that elected representatives are the most responsible members of society and should confront problems head-on.

Reddy concluded by appealing to everyone to contribute to making Telangana, a state known for its struggles and movements, free from drug abuse.
