Madhya Pradesh to lead agricultural revolution with innovation and solar power: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav

At Krishi Udyog Samagam 2025, CM announces solar pump scheme, crop branding, food processing boost, and vision to make farming profitable and industrial-scale

Sitamau, Mandsaur: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly progressing economically, and the state government is committed to transforming agriculture through innovation, global techniques, and localized solutions. Addressing the gathering at the ‘Krishi Udyog Samagam: 2025’ in Sitamau, he laid out a comprehensive plan to make farming profitable, sustainable, and technologically empowered, turning it into a recognized industry. CM announced that farmers in the state will generate their own electricity using solar energy. The government will provide solar pumps at just 10% of the cost, covering up to 5, 3, and 2 HP pumps under the scheme. Over 32 lakh solar pumps will be distributed in the next three years. Surplus power generated by farmers will be purchased by the government, ensuring energy self-sufficiency and income security.

He added that the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) river linking project will transform the agricultural landscape of the Ujjain division, enabling irrigation in every field. He also urged farmers to avoid stubble burning, citing its harm to soil fertility. The state is distributing subsidized machines for safe disposal of crop residue. To enhance profitability, the government is supporting food processing units, value addition, and branding of state-grown produce such as oranges and bananas. Branding agricultural products under the Madhya Pradesh label is a priority, he stated. CM Yadav encouraged farmers to utilize every inch of their land productively and to adopt horticulture, floriculture, and allied activities. The government aims to develop one “Vrindavan Gram” per district, with advanced agri-infrastructure, schools, and all essential amenities. In dairy development, MP currently contributes 9% to India’s milk production, with a goal to reach 20%. The government will offer 25% subsidy for rearing up to 200 cows or buffaloes (8 units), and has increased aid for orphaned and disabled cows from Rs.20 to Rs.40 per day. “Whichever home has a cow, that’s where Lord Krishna resides,” he said, highlighting the cultural and economic significance of livestock. Dr. Yadav announced the renaming of CM Rise Schools as “Maharishi Sandipani Vidyalayas”, inspired by Lord Krishna’s journey through Ujjain for his education. He approved four such schools and a tehsil building in Mandsaur district and extended the Samagam’s exhibition by one day. He also announced the construction and inauguration of projects worth ₹95 crore, including school buildings in Chandwasa and Laduna, the Suwasra–Runija–Guradia Kala road, and the Khayampur Tehsil office. Highlighting tourism, Dr. Yadav noted that recent cheetah introductions in Gandhi Sagar will boost local tourism, including homestays and cultural sites, and bring economic benefits to local residents. Geeta Bhavans will be constructed in every urban body. CM Yadav also emphasized the importance of protecting the region’s rich archaeological heritage, especially in Mandsaur and Neemuch, while lauding PM Narendra Modi’s leadership in improving farmer welfare. Irrigation expansion, improved electricity access, and direct farmer benefits are evidence of this.

Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwah said MP is now a leader in spice crop production and stressed the importance of high-quality seeds, modern technology, and seller-buyer meets for better farmer profits. He described the Samagam as a model for similar events across the state.

Deputy CM Jagdish Devda, Agriculture Minister Edal Singh Kansana, Minister-in-Charge Nirmala Bhuria, MP Sudhir Gupta, and RS MP Banshilal Gurjar were also present along with top bureaucrats including Chief Secretary Anurag Jain and ACS Anupam Rajan. The Chief Minister honored innovative farmers, 22 women farmers, and 148 TB-free gram panchayat sarpanches, celebrating their transformative contributions to agriculture and rural health.

CM Dr. Yadav visited the agriculture and horticulture exhibition at the venue, where modern machinery, local innovations, and processed products were showcased, reinforcing the government’s commitment to agri-industrial advancement.
