New Delhi : As part of the ongoing observance of Child Safety Awareness Month – July 2026, a series of awareness programmes and outreach initiatives are being held across the National Capital. The month-long campaign commenced on 1 July 2026 and continues with activities aimed at creating a safer and more informed environment for children.

The campaign today commenced at Delhi Police Public School, Safdarjung Enclave with a Middle School assembly. Addressing the students, principal of the school emphasised that children are the institution’s most valuable asset and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment. The programme concluded with students and staff taking the Child Safety Pledge, reaffirming their collective commitment to child protection and well-being.

As part of the campaign, police stations across various districts are organising educational visits for school students to familiarise them with the functioning and role of the police. During these interactive sessions, students are being sensitised to important issues such as cyber safety, common online frauds, responsible use of social media, and essential precautions for staying safe in the digital environment. The initiative seeks to enhance awareness, build confidence in law enforcement, and foster a positive and trusting relationship between young citizens and the police.

In addition, Self-Defence Training Sessions, Cyber Safety Awareness Programmes and Traffic and Road Safety Awareness Programmes are being conducted in schools across Delhi. These programmes have witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and are equipping them with practical self-defence skills while reinforcing awareness about personal safety, cyber security, and responsible road behaviour.
