Domestic benchmark indices rebounded sharply today, rising over a percent in early trading amid mixed global cues. This follows a significant drop in global share markets, including Indian stocks, the previous day.
The Sensex at the BSE jumped 918 points, or 1.17%, reaching the 79,678 mark in morning trades. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange climbed 278 points, or 1.16%, trading at 24,334 during the opening trade.
The rupee strengthened by 24 paise, trading at 83 rupees 85 paise against the US dollar in early trading.
