ABVP Condemns Jantar Mantar Clashes, Demands Panel for Transparent Competitive Exams

New Delhi, July 22: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Wednesday condemned the violence that erupted during student demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, calling for a transparent and accountable examination system through the formation of a high-level government panel.

In a statement issued amid the ongoing controversy over alleged examination irregularities, the student organisation expressed concern over the injuries sustained by both students and security personnel during the recent clashes. It described the violence as unfortunate and alleged that certain anti-social elements had deliberately attempted to disrupt the peaceful nature of the protest.

While reiterating its support for students affected by examination irregularities, including the NEET-UG paper leak, the ABVP stressed that genuine concerns of aspirants should be addressed through institutional reforms rather than political confrontation.

The organisation urged the Centre to constitute a high-level committee to examine issues related to transparency, accountability and reforms in competitive examinations. According to the ABVP, such a panel should recommend measures to strengthen the credibility and fairness of the country’s examination process.

The student body also alleged that vested political interests were attempting to exploit students’ concerns to create unrest and instability. It maintained that education-related issues should not be used to further political agendas and called for constructive dialogue to resolve the challenges faced by students.

The statement comes in the wake of nationwide protests over the NEET-UG examination controversy, with demands for greater transparency and accountability continuing to dominate the public discourse.
