New Delhi, June 3: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said that nearly 40,000 students have successfully completed the verification and re-evaluation application process through its online portal without facing any major issues so far.
The board stated that multiple payment gateways, including those of State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda and Indian Bank, have been integrated into the portal to facilitate smooth transactions. Students are not required to hold accounts with any of these banks and can make payments using UPI, net banking, debit cards and credit cards.
The clarification comes after concerns were raised by some students and parents regarding technical glitches and payment-related issues during the initial phase of the re-evaluation process.
CBSE reopened the online portal on June 2 for students seeking verification of issues in scanned copies of answer books and re-evaluation of answers for the Class 12 Board Examination 2026. The facility is available only to candidates who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets.
The board said the portal will remain open until midnight on June 6, and no offline applications or requests submitted after the deadline will be entertained.
Students are required to log in through the CBSE website using Aadhaar-based authentication, a security measure introduced by the board to ensure the integrity of the process.
Under the verification facility, students can report issues such as missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, missing maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer books, or evaluation against the wrong question paper set. Candidates can also request re-evaluation of specific answers if they are dissatisfied with the assessment.
The fee has been fixed at ₹100 per answer book for verification of issues and ₹25 per question for re-evaluation. CBSE has advised students to carefully review all details before final submission, as information cannot be modified once the application is frozen and payment is initiated.
The board also noted that only one application each for verification and re-evaluation will be allowed, making it important for students to include all subjects and questions they wish to challenge in a single submission.
The latest update comes amid ongoing scrutiny of the board’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. In recent weeks, students and parents had voiced concerns regarding evaluation discrepancies and technical difficulties on the portal.
CBSE further revealed that its systems recently faced cyber threats, including a denial-of-service attack that generated nearly 1.5 million hits within two minutes and over one lakh attempts at unauthorized file access. The board said enhanced security measures and improved session management have since been implemented to ensure a smoother user experience.
Officials said the results of verification and re-evaluation requests will be communicated to students once the review process is completed.
