New Delhi, May 5, 2026: Celebrating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s landmark electoral victory in West Bengal, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday offered prayers at the Kali Temple in Chittaranjan Park alongside BJP national president Nitin Nabin, describing the result as a defining political moment for the nation.

Following the temple visit, Rekha Gupta said the Bengal mandate reflected growing public confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance model centered on development, nationalism, and women’s empowerment. She remarked that the BJP’s success symbolized the expansion of a political vision rooted in national unity and progress from northern to eastern India.
Highlighting the crucial role of women voters, the Chief Minister said Bengal’s women had delivered a decisive verdict against fear, violence, and appeasement based politics. Referring to the broader national discourse on women’s rights and representation, she asserted that mothers and sisters across the state had voted to protect their dignity, security, and democratic rights.

Gupta emphasized that the outcome demonstrated the effectiveness of policies aimed at strengthening women’s safety and empowerment under the Modi government. She noted that despite political intimidation, women in Bengal had participated fearlessly in the democratic process and emerged as a powerful force behind the BJP’s historic breakthrough.
Calling the victory a tribute to grassroots party workers, Rekha Gupta praised BJP cadres for their perseverance and dedication, stating that their years of struggle had culminated in a transformational electoral moment. She described the Bengal verdict as an inspiring example of democracy prevailing over coercion and political fear.
Senior BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj, and MLA Shikha Rai, were also present during the occasion, underscoring the party’s broader celebration of its significant political gains in West Bengal.
The symbolic temple visit and subsequent remarks reinforced BJP’s positioning of the Bengal win as not merely an electoral success, but as a wider endorsement of governance, development, and inclusive political transformation.
