New Delhi, April 19, 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to travel to Germany on an official three day visit from April 21 to 23, aimed at strengthening strategic defence cooperation and expanding industrial partnerships between the two countries.
During the visit, he will hold bilateral discussions with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and other senior officials of the German government. The talks are expected to cover a wide range of areas including defence manufacturing, military cooperation and emerging technologies.
Both sides are likely to finalise key agreements, including a roadmap for defence industrial collaboration and a framework for cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping training programmes. These initiatives are intended to deepen long term engagement between the two defence establishments.
The visit will also focus on expanding cooperation in advanced fields such as cyber security, artificial intelligence and drone technology, reflecting the growing importance of modern warfare capabilities in bilateral relations.
Rajnath Singh is expected to interact with leading representatives of the German defence industry to explore opportunities for joint development and co production under India’s Make in India initiative.
Officials noted that this visit comes after a gap of several years and is expected to provide fresh momentum to India Germany defence ties, which are based on shared democratic values and a commitment to global peace and stability.
