Haryana Kicks Off Census 2027 with Digital Drive, CM Nayab Singh Saini Leads by Example

Self-enumeration phase begins across the state as government pushes for transparent, citizen-driven data collection

The Haryana government has initiated the process for Census 2027 with the launch of a statewide digital self-enumeration campaign, marking a shift towards a more technology-driven and transparent system. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini set the tone for the exercise by personally completing his own self-enumeration, highlighting the importance of public participation in the process.

The self-enumeration phase has commenced and will continue until April 30, during which residents are encouraged to submit their household details through digital platforms. Officials described the initiative as more than a routine administrative exercise, calling it a crucial step in shaping the vision of a developed Haryana and contributing to the broader goal of a developed India.

Following this phase, the first formal round of the census will be conducted between May 1 and May 30, 2026. Authorities emphasised that the use of digital tools is expected to enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and make the process more citizen-friendly compared to traditional methods.

The state government has urged people to participate actively and ensure that all information provided is accurate, as the data collected will play a vital role in policy planning and future development initiatives.
