Delhi Police Organises Pipping Ceremony at PHQ: 88 Police Personnel Conferred Honorary Ranks on Retirement

New Delhi : A grand Pipping Ceremony was held today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi, where 88 police personnel were conferred with honorary ranks on the occasion of their retirement. The ceremony was presided over by Shri Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who, along with other senior officers, ceremonially pipped the retiring personnel—ranging from Constable to Sub-Inspector—with the badges of their next higher honorary rank.

This was the third such ceremony organised under the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme for Delhi Police personnel. The inaugural ceremony was held on 31st December 2025, following the approval accorded by Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, for granting honorary promotions to personnel from the rank of Constable up to Sub-Inspector upon retirement.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Robin Hibu, IPS, Spl. CP/HRD, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and presented an overview of the initiative and the significance of the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, stated that, today, organising the ceremony for the third time reflects the department’s continued commitment to recognise the dedicated service rendered by retiring Delhi Police personnel. He expressed happiness over the professional success achieved by the wards of the retiring officials and appreciated the invaluable support extended by families of police personnel in their success.

The Commissioner further encouraged the retiring personnel to guide younger members of the force by sharing their experience and professional insights. He urged them to continue upholding exemplary conduct in society and to highlight the positive initiatives and accomplishments of Delhi Police, thereby contributing to the strengthening the public perception of the department. He also advised them to prioritise their health, maintain a positive attitude, and extended his best wishes for a fulfilling and happy post-retirement life.

The personnel conferred with honorary ranks at today’s ceremony included: Head Constable to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) – 09, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to Sub-Inspector – 24, Sub-Inspector to Inspector – 55.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Suman Goyal, IPS, Jt. CP/HQ.

Senior officers of Delhi Police, the retiring personnel, and their family members attended the event, making it a memorable occasion.
