Union Minister unveils Babu Jagjivan Ram statue, inaugurates Guru Ravidas Bhawan on Ravidas Jayanti

Palwal: Union Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar said saints belong to the entire society and inspire love, harmony and brotherhood. He was addressing a gathering at the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Jayanti programme organised by the Babu Jagjivan Ram Dalit Utthan Trust at Babu Jagjivan Ram Park, Shamshabad. During the event, he unveiled the statue of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram and inaugurated the newly built Guru Ravidas Bhawan.

He paid floral tributes to Guru Ravidas. Extending greetings on Guru Ravidas Jayanti, he said Guru Ravidas gave new direction to social reform by opposing caste discrimination and inequality. Referring to the saying “Man changa to kathauti mein Ganga”, he said purity of thought and action removes social divisions.

He said the Modi government is working on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, ensuring welfare schemes reach all without discrimination. Schemes such as free ration, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Har Ghar Nal Se Jal, Ujjwala Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission reflect Guru Ravidas’s ideals. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for the construction and renovation of Guru Ravidas Bhawan, calling such facilities useful for society. Hodal MLA Harendra Singh said Krishan Pal Gurjar has worked consistently for the upliftment of the Dalit community and inclusive development in the region. Bawal MLA Dr. Krishan Kumar said Guru Ravidas guided society towards equality and humanity. Former minister Harsh Kumar highlighted the relevance of Guru Ravidas’s teachings, while former MLA Deepak Mangla said saint jayantis inspire positive social values. On this occasion, Former MLA Ramratan, Kiran Pal Khatana, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Rameshwar, Palwal Municipal Council Vice Chairman Manoj Bandhu, and ward councilors from numerous villages, and a large number of elderly people, women, and children.
