Ahmedabad, Gujarat – March 12, 2024– In a momentous event today, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi marked a significant stride in the development of the nation by laying the foundation stone for the Petrochemicals Complex of Petronet LNG at Dahej, Gujarat. The grand occasion witnessed the inauguration of 50 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at various railway stations across the country.
Highlighting the widespread impact of the event, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the participation of individuals from over 200 locations and emphasized the continuous expansion of development projects aimed at creating a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
The Petrochemicals Complex at Dahej, with an estimated value exceeding Rs. 20,000 crores, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister. This complex is expected to play a pivotal role in bolstering hydrogen production and meeting the demand for polypropylene in the country. The strategic location of the Petrochemicals Complex, in close proximity to the existing LNG regasification terminal, is anticipated to result in substantial cost savings in both capital expenditure (capex) and operational expenditure (opex).
Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the focus on India’s youthful population, emphasizing that the inaugurated projects and laid foundation stones are aimed at securing a bright future for the country’s youth.
In addition to the petrochemical milestone, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Jan Aushadhi Kendras at railway stations nationwide. These Kendras, dedicated to the nation, are poised to offer affordable and quality generic medicines, enhancing the welfare of passengers. The strategically placed Jan Aushadi Kendras are expected to benefit both incoming and outgoing passengers, contributing to job creation and providing a valuable service to the public.
