Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren Pays Tribute to Martyr Sobaran Soren on 68th Martyrdom Day

Calls for united efforts to fulfil vision of a prosperous and self-reliant Jharkhand

Lukaiyatand (Nemra, Gola): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday visited Lukiayatan (Nimra, Gola) to observe the 68th martyrdom day of Martyr Sobaran Soren and paid floral tribute at his statue. Addressing a public gathering at the site, the Chief Minister said that every year people assemble here to honour Martyr Sobaran Soren, his grandfather and remember his supreme sacrifice.

He said that Jharkhand has produced countless brave sons who fought for the rights and dignity of the tribal and indigenous communities and protected the state’s jal, jungle, zameen, (Water, Forest, Land) and identity. Many of these heroes were killed by feudal forces or imprisoned, yet they never bowed before exploitation.

CM Soren described Jharkhand as a land enriched with the blood of martyrs, whose memories, statues and memorials exist in every corner of the state. He noted that the absence of Dishom Guru, the late Shibu Soren, marks the end of an era, and urged the people to continue the legacy of the forefathers who made the vision of a separate Jharkhand a reality.

He said that the responsibility is now greater than ever, and everyone must unitedly contribute to the holistic development of the state. CM Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand is now a young state completing 25 years and the government is working rapidly in every sector with a commitment to strengthen the shoulders of its youth.

The Chief Minister stated that multiple welfare schemes are being implemented to strengthen the rural economy and ensure the well-being of villages, the poor and farmers. Initiatives are enabling families to sustain themselves through labour and agriculture. The government is taking full responsibility for the state’s 3.25 crore citizens and has ensured that women half of the population are being empowered and standing on their own feet.

He added that empowering the young generation remains a major focus. CM Soren announced that on today, 28 November 2025, the present government will complete one year in office, and more than 10,000 young men and women are being given government appointments on this occasion.

Along with government jobs, various opportunities for self-employment are also being created. He asserted that the state government operates not only from the Ranchi headquarters but also from the villages, and that under the “Right to Service” initiative, schemes are being delivered directly to people’s doorsteps along with on-the-spot resolution of grievances. Chief Minister reiterated that people no longer need to run from office to office to receive benefits.

Officers now reach citizens directly, eliminating middlemen and brokers from government systems. Strict monitoring is being enforced to ensure transparency and fairness. A large number of villagers, along with Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi and district administration officials, were present during the ceremony.
