The Chief Minister performed yoga as part of the large-scale event organised in Jhansi and was felicitated with a sapling on stage, symbolising environmental conservation and sustainable living. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups, including students, government officials, yoga practitioners and members of civil society.
Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving global recognition to India’s ancient traditions and cultural heritage through the International Day of Yoga. He said yoga has emerged as a powerful symbol of India’s contribution to the world and has helped strengthen the country’s image on the global stage.

“We are all grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has given global recognition to India’s traditions and heritage and has presented a vision for all of us, enabling 140 crore Indians to move forward with pride in the world and realise the vision of Viksit Bharat,” the Chief Minister said.

He noted that Prime Minister Modi has consistently worked to expand the reach and impact of Yoga Day celebrations by participating in events across different states every year. According to Yogi Adityanath, these efforts have helped transform yoga into a global movement promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and spiritual balance.
“You must have seen that the Prime Minister himself visits different states every year to take these International Yoga Day events to new heights of success. It is my good fortune that this year I have the opportunity to join you all in this International Yoga Day event on this historic ground in Jhansi,” he said.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life, stating that the ancient practice offers solutions to many modern-day health challenges. International Day of Yoga is celebrated every year on June 21 across the world to spread awareness about the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga. Since its adoption by the United Nations in 2014 following India’s proposal, the day has grown into a global event observed by millions of people in numerous countries.
