Joint Commissioner to Inspect Cleanliness Systems in all the zones: Commissioner A. Mona Srinivas

Faridabad, March 8, 2025: In a move aimed at enhancing the city’s cleanliness, Commissioner A. Mona Srinivas has instructed all municipal officers to conduct regular inspections of cleanliness arrangements, particularly focusing on waste collection points in their respective zones. She has asked the officials to start activities to raise awareness about cleanliness starting with various campaigns that will be launched, and cleanliness awareness events will be held in each zone. A cleanliness drive will also be conducted in local parks this upcoming Saturday. Additionally, bins for wet and dry waste will be placed at markets and public places. In a bid to replace the heaps of garbage in various parts of the city, flowers will be planted at these locations, contributing to the beautification of the area.


In light of the Swachhata Survey, Commissioner A. Mona Srinivas emphasized the importance of daily waste collection. She warned that if waste is not picked up daily, appropriate departmental action will be taken against the concerned officials and contractors. The Commissioner also instructed that cleaning of major open drains in the city be ensured, and proper inspection of the sewage system on roads should be carried out to avoid any inconvenience to citizens. Furthermore, the repair of public toilets and ensuring the availability of necessary cleaning materials was also highlighted.


The meeting also included instructions for all Joint Commissioners to identify at least 10 garbage collection points in their respective areas and beautify them with flowers and plants. This will serve both as a deterrent against open dumping and add an element of beauty to these spaces.
Furthermore, Commissioner A. Mona Srinivas directed all Joint Commissioners, Executive Engineers (XENs), and the sanitation department to ensure that no construction and demolition waste is visible along roads and that cleanliness is maintained at garbage collection points daily. Regular sweeping and lime application at these sites are also to be ensured.
