President of India, Droupadi Murmu invited as Chief Guest for Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Bharat Scouts and Guides

Gurugram , January 22, 2025: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu has been invited as the Chief Guest for Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Bharat Scouts and Guides. It will be held at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Manapparai, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, from January 28 to February 3.

The Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Committee led by Dr KK Khandelwal IAS(Rtd.), the Chief National Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides and State Chief Commissioner Haryana, New Delhi & Chandigarh extended an invitation to the President on Wednesday.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides have requested the President to inaugurate the Jamboree on January 28, 2025, at 4PM or to attend the Closing Ceremony on February 2, 2025, at 4 PM. The organizers said that her presence would reaffirm the values of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and inspire the youth to contribute to the vision of a developed and united India. The Diamond Jubilee Jamboree, a highlight of the ongoing year-long celebrations marks the 75 glorious years of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. It will bring together 20,000 Scouts and Guides from across India, along with 1,000 international participants from Asia-Pacific and other regions. 875 scouts and guides from Haryana are participating in this jamboree.

The theme is “Sashakt Yuva, Viksit Bharat”. It will celebrate youth empowerment, cultural exchange, and leadership development under the timeless ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”—the world is one family.

Dr. K.K. Khandelwal, a distinguished leader in the movement, presented his latest book, “Organising Scouts and Guides Jamboree”, to the President during the meeting. The book encapsulates best practices and organizational strategies for large-scale gatherings, further enriching the tradition of knowledge-sharing within the Bharat Scouts and Guides. The President had earlier graced the 18th National Jamboree in Pali, Rajasthan, in January 2023. The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a premier national movement dedicated to youth empowerment and community service.
