Maharashtra Gears Up for 68th National School Yoga Sports Championship Starting January 16

Kolhapur, January 14, 2025: The much-awaited 68th National School Yogasana Sports Championship 2024-25 is set to take place from January 16 to January 18 at the A BP Shikshan Group in Nave Pargaon, located in the Hatkangale tehsil of Kolhapur district. The prestigious event is being organized by the Maharashtra State School Education and Sports Department, Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, District Sports Council of Kolhapur, and the District Sports Officer’s Office.

The three-day competition will see participation from school athletes aged 17 to 19, representing 35 states from across the country. It promises to be an exciting showcase of skill, discipline, and determination as young competitors gather to display their mastery in Yogasana.

In a press release from the district information office, Neelima Adsul, the District Sports Officer of Kolhapur, shared that the event would be inaugurated by Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif and Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prakash Abitkar. The inaugural ceremony will also feature the presence of several eminent dignitaries, including Hiralal Sonawane, Commissioner of the Sports and Youth Services Department, Amol Yedge, the District Collector, Karthikeyan S., Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, K. Manjulakshmi, the Kolhapur Municipal Commissioner, Mahendra Pandit, the District Superintendent of Police, and Sudhir More, Joint Director of the Sports and Youth Services.

The event is expected to draw significant attention as it provides a platform for the youth to excel in the ancient art of yoga, which has long been an integral part of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
