Amit Shah Inaugurates Brahmaputra Wing at Raj Bhavan, Launches Eight Projects Worth ₹322 Crore in Assam

The new NCFL in Guwahati will safeguard citizens’ earnings, combat cybercrime, and strengthen border security across the Northeast.

Guwahati- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated the Brahmaputra Wing at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati, and performed the inauguration and foundation laying of eight projects worth ₹322 crore through virtual mode. Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and several other dignitaries were present.

Addressing the gathering,  Amit Shah said that under Prime Minister  Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Northeast has witnessed unprecedented development over the last 11 years. He emphasized that this period will be recorded in golden letters in the history of the region. Highlighting the strategic importance of the Northeast, he noted the region’s rich cultural heritage and its critical role in India’s security, from historical figures like Maharaja Prithu and Lachit Borphukan to the youth who serve in the armed forces.

Shah outlined the significance of the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (NCFL) established in Guwahati, Assam, which will operate 24/7 to protect citizens’ earnings, prevent narcotics and illegal smuggling, and strengthen national security across all eight Northeastern states. He also detailed the inauguration of facilities for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel.

The Brahmaputra Wing, built at a cost of over ₹40 crore and spanning more than 3,300 square meters, will support constitutional activities and serve as a hub for recognizing students, artists, and researchers, while providing a platform for public dialogue with the Assam government.

 Shah further spoke on national issues, praising Prime Minister Modi’s global stature and condemning the opposition’s use of abusive language against the Prime Minister’s late mother in Bihar. He stressed that such negativity and hate politics threaten public life and democracy, urging the opposition to apologize to the Prime Minister, his mother, and the people of India.

The eight projects inaugurated and laid today aim to boost infrastructure, governance, and security in the Northeast, reflecting the Modi government’s commitment to the region’s comprehensive development.
