MoS Defence stresses Agniveers' role in strengthening India's internal security

New Delhi, December 12: Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said that it would be appropriate to include Agniveers in the internal security of the country. He was addressing the inaugural session of the 34th Global Conclave of the International Institute of Security and Safety Management (ISSM) at Hotel Taj Vivanta in Dwarka today as the chief guest. He said that these security personnel reach in every disaster. The police comes later. The Minister of State for Defence said that even after four years of service, Agniveers can contribute to the internal security of the country. He suggested that such seminars and exhibitions should be organized in small cities as well. This will make the common man want to join them after getting information about them.

On this occasion, Sanjay Seth praised IISSM and said that this institute has made lakhs of people self-reliant by giving them employment.

In the program, Executive Chairman of IISSM Dr. RK Sinha told how the system has to be maintained while facing challenges in the present times. He said that the private security service is being modernized and made effective. IISSM President, retired IPS GM Srivastava said that for the first time it is being started that Agniveers can join us after completing their service and contribute to the development of the country. On this occasion, the new issue of the institute’s magazine ‘Surakshit Sansar’ was released by dignitaries. Many people were honored with awards and other prizes for making notable contributions in various fields. CEO of SIS Limited, Dheeraj Singh, threw light on seven types of security. He announced that in the next five years this company will form Agni Veer Squad. On this occasion, security expert GB Singh said that first the security of the communities and then the security of the country will have to be paid attention to. He said that a lot of work still needs to be done in forensic and investigation work.
