DAV School Faridabad Hosts State-Level Taekwondo and Wushu Tournament 2026

345 students from 41 DAV schools participate in two-day zonal championship; winners to represent their events at DAV National Sports

Faridabad-  DAV Gian Prakash Chopra Public School, Sector 49, Faridabad, hosted the DAV Sports State (Zonal) Level Tournament 2026-27 in Taekwondo and Wushu on September 30 and October 1, bringing together 345 young athletes from 41 DAV schools across the state.

The two-day sporting event was organised under the leadership of Principal Jyoti Dahiya, with the school making arrangements focused on the safety, comfort and convenience of participating students and officials.

The tournament provided students with a platform to demonstrate their sporting abilities, discipline and competitive spirit.

In Wushu, competitions were held for boys and girls in the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories. Taekwondo competitions were conducted for boys across the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories.


Qualified referees and experienced coaches supervised the matches to ensure fair and disciplined conduct throughout the championship.

Nisha Kaushik, Principal of RRJS DAV Public School, Pataudi, Gurugram, observed the proceedings and appreciated the enthusiasm, sporting spirit and participation of the young athletes.

The participants displayed agility, perseverance, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the competitions, contributing to the energetic atmosphere of the tournament.

The school expressed its gratitude to the DAV College Managing Committee (DAV CMC) for organising the DAV Sports Championship and providing students with opportunities to compete at cluster, state and national levels.

The first and second position holders in the respective events will go on to represent their events at the DAV National Sports.

The tournament concluded with an emphasis on healthy competition, teamwork and determination. The successful conduct of the championship highlighted the school’s efforts to encourage sporting excellence and provide students with opportunities to develop their talents alongside academics.
