New Delhi, 8 October 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday attended the launch of the Joint Squad for Health (JOSH) teams at Bharat Mandapam by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda. Union Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, MPs, MLAs, councillors, senior officials, NCC cadets, My Bharat volunteers and young participants were also present.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta underlined the important role of youth in the national mission for a TB-free India. She said that under the leadership and guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, sustained efforts are being made to eliminate TB from the country. She said the national launch of JOSH teams to eliminate a disease like TB from its roots is an important step in this direction.

She said the combined strength of health, youth and defence is giving this national mission a broad public participation-driven character. Through JOSH, young volunteers, NCC cadets, elected representatives and officials will reach out to people and, along with spreading awareness about TB, strengthen efforts towards its elimination. By channeling the energy, enthusiasm and determination of young people into this mission, the fight against TB can be taken to every section of society. She expressed confidence that when youth power and public participation move forward together, it will strengthen the country’s resolve to completely eliminate TB.

She said JOSH teams will work across the country with the resolve that ‘TB will lose, India will win’ and contribute to building a healthy India. She called upon all young people to become part of the national campaign, spread awareness about TB and contribute to efforts to rid society of the disease.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s message of ‘Hum Karke Rahenge’ (We Will Do It), the Chief Minister said this belief gives us the strength to face every challenge. Nothing is impossible, and within every impossibility lies the possibility of what can be achieved. With this belief, everyone must move forward together to make India TB-free and realise the resolve of a developed India. The vision of a developed India can be fulfilled only when India is healthy and prosperous.
