Two-Year-Old Girl Successfully Rescued from Rajasthan Borewell After 18-Hour Operation

Dausa : A two-year-old girl was successfully rescued from a 35-foot deep open borewell in Dausa, Rajasthan, on Thursday, following a grueling 18-hour rescue operation. The incident, which took place in the Bandikui area on Wednesday, prompted a swift and coordinated response from both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

The intense operation concluded with the girl’s safe recovery, much to the relief of local authorities and residents. Superintendent of Police Ranjita Sharma expressed profound gratitude for the successful outcome, stating, “We are very pleased that we managed to rescue the girl from the borewell after such a prolonged and challenging ordeal. The dedication and hard work of the NDRF and SDRF teams were crucial to this success. The girl has been admitted to the nearest hospital for necessary care.”

Yogesh Kumar from the NDRF detailed the complexities of the rescue mission. The child was trapped at a depth of 28 feet. To reach her, rescuers employed a parallel digging technique. Despite facing difficulties in stabilizing the borewell’s walls to secure the child, the team made significant progress when they found the girl’s sandal at a depth of 21 feet during their initial attempts.

The operation required meticulous planning and execution. Teams had to carefully dig alongside the borewell to ensure the girl’s safety while navigating the narrow, unstable space. The successful rescue was a result of the coordinated efforts of various agencies and the persistence of the rescuers.

The girl’s condition is currently stable, and she is receiving medical attention at the local hospital. The incident has highlighted the importance of prompt and effective response mechanisms for such emergencies and the critical role played by specialized rescue teams in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in distress.
