The Impressive TimesNew Delhi , 10 September , 2024 : With the arrest of 02 desperate drug peddlers namely, Shivam Chauhan S/o Hari Chand R/o Ghonda, New Usmanpur, Delhi, Age- 24 Yrs and Nazim S/o Ali Daraj R/o Badaun, U.P., Age- 35 Yrs, team Narcotics Squad recovered 303.80 grams of fine quality Heroin worth about Rs. 15 lakhs vide case FIR No. 611/24 u/s 21 NDPS Act PS Nand Nagri. Accused Nazim used to procure the drug from Badaun, U.P. and accused Shivam further supplies it in the local area of Delhi /NCR. They committed the crime to earn easy money.
Brief facts of the incident:-
In pursuance of directions issued by senior officers and to curb supply of narcotics substance in the area of North-East District, team Narcotics had been collected the inputs from various deployed sources. On 06.09.24, information regarding arriving of consignment of drug through a peddler was received by team Narcotics/NED. The information was further developed and a dedicated team led by Insp. Kiranpal, I/C Narcotics Squad was constituted under the close supervision of ACP/Ops & overall supervision of the undersigned.
Accordingly, the team laid down a trap near District Park, Nand Nagri Delhi, and apprehended a person later identified as Shivam Chauhan S/o Hari Chand R/o Ghonda, New Usmanpur Delhi Age- 24 Yrs. During his search in accordance with NDPS Act, in the presence of Sh. Jasod Mehta, ACP/Nand Nagri, 303.80 grams Heroin was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 611/24 U/S 21 NDPS Act, was registered at PS Nand Nagri and the investigation was taken up.
During interrogation, accused Shivam disclosed that he came to supply the heroin to his source at District Park. On the instance of accused Shivam, a raid was conducted and his associate Nazim S/o Ali Daraz R/o Badaun, U.P., Age- 35 Yrs was also nabbed. On their sustained interrogation, they revealed that accused Nazim used to procure the drugs from Badaun, U.P. and accused Shivam further peddles it in the local area of Delhi/NCR.
Further their involvements in other cases are also being traced and their source of supply of drugs is being ascertained. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

Recovery:-

In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the North-East Delhi Narcotics Squad arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 303.80 grams of fine-quality heroin valued at approximately Rs. 15 lakhs. The arrests were made in connection with Case FIR No. 611/24 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, registered at Nand Nagri Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shivam Chauhan, 24, a resident of Ghonda, New Usmanpur, Delhi, and Nazim, 35, hailing from Badaun, Uttar Pradesh. Nazim reportedly procured the drugs from Badaun and supplied them to Shivam, who further distributed the heroin in Delhi/NCR to local contacts. Both peddlers confessed to engaging in this illicit activity to make quick money.
