Delhi Police Busts Fake Mosquito Repellent Manufacturing Unit in Rohini; Counterfeit Goods Worth ₹20 Lakh Seized

Three accused arrested; duplicate All Out, Good Knight, Godrej Hit, and soaps recovered in major crackdown

New Delhi, August 31, 2025 :The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a racket involved in the large-scale manufacturing and trading of counterfeit mosquito repellents and soaps, seizing duplicate products worth nearly ₹20 lakh. Three accused have been arrested in connection with the case.

According to officials, the seized fake products included duplicates of well-known consumer brands such as All Out Ultra, Good Knight, Godrej Hit, and Godrej Soap. A case has been registered under Sections 318(4)/336(4)/125/280 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 63 of the Copyright Act at the Crime Branch Police Station, Delhi.

The Operation and Raid

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police, in coordination with authorised company representatives, carried out a raid on 27 August 2025 at a godown in Sector-16, Rohini. The premises were owned by Ankit Mittal (34), who was found present during the raid.

On searching the godown, a large stock of counterfeit mosquito repellents and soaps was discovered. The items were examined by Rajesh Kumar, authorised representative of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. and Brillon Consumer Products Ltd., who confirmed that they were duplicates.

Arrests and Further Action

Based on Mittal’s disclosure, further raids were conducted, leading to the arrest of two more associates:

  • Happy Goyal (36), resident of Rohini

  • Naresh Singh, resident of Shiv Vihar, Nangloi

Police recovered more counterfeit goods, manufacturing machinery, and chemical mixtures used for production from multiple locations. All seized items have been deposited at Malkhana PS Crime Branch.

Ongoing Investigation

Officials stated that further investigation is underway to identify the entire supply chain and distribution network of the counterfeit racket. The police are also probing whether the gang had interstate links.
