Patna Municipal Corporation organised Cleanliness Awareness campaign at JD Women’s College

-Mayor Sita Sahu highlights wet–dry waste segregation to boost Patna’s cleanliness ranking

Patna: On the initiative of Patna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Yashpal Meena, a cleanliness awareness campaign was organised at JD Women’s College, Patna.

The programme was inaugurated by Mayor Sita Sahu along with college Principal Prof. Meera Kumar, Swachhata Brand Ambassador and folk singer Dr. Nitu Kumari Navgeet, Dr. Hina Rani, Dr. Manjari Nath, Prof. Rita Das and Prof. Rekha Mishra. Students of JD Women’s College presented a powerful street play on cleanliness, earning wide appreciation for its strong message.

Folk singer Nitu Navgeet captivated the audience with popular cleanliness songs, filling the auditorium with enthusiasm. Addressing the gathering, Mayor Sita Sahu appealed for public participation in Swachh Survekshan 2025 to improve Patna’s cleanliness ranking. She stressed the importance of segregating wet and dry waste at home and handing it separately to municipal collection vehicles.

A quiz competition was also conducted by the cleanliness awareness team, where students answered questions and wrote impactful cleanliness slogans. Students were rewarded for outstanding performances in street plays and slogan writing, encouraging active youth participation in the city’s cleanliness mission.
