Delhi Police Honours 73 Retiring Personnel With Honorary Ranks at PHQ Pipping Ceremony

New Delhi : A Pipping Ceremony was organised today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi, to honour 73 retiring police personnel who were conferred honorary ranks on the occasion of their retirement.

The ceremony was presided over by Anurag Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi. Along with senior officers, he ceremonially adorned the retiring personnel, from Constable to Sub-Inspector, with the badges of their next higher honorary ranks.

Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, congratulated the retiring personnel and their families on the successful completion of their careers and appreciated their years of dedicated service, hard work and commitment.

The CP/Delhi also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the families of the retiring personnel. He said that families stand by police personnel during difficult times, provide them with encouragement and support and make an important contribution to their ability to discharge their demanding duties with dedication.

He highlighted that policing is a challenging yet deeply fulfilling profession, involving direct interaction with the public. He noted that the presence of police personnel on the streets provides citizens with a sense of security and confidence. He urged the retiring personnel to continue to serve as ambassadors of Delhi Police by sharing their experiences and highlighting the good work being carried out by them and their colleagues.

The CP/Delhi further observed that the nature of police service often leaves personnel with limited time for their families and for pursuing activities they may wish to undertake personally. He expressed hope that retirement would provide them with an opportunity to spend quality time with their families and pursue their long-pending aspirations. He wished them good health, happiness and a fulfilling second innings, while assuring them that they would always remain an integral part of the Delhi Police family.

A total of 73 police personnel were conferred honorary ranks during the ceremony, including Constable to Head Constable: 01; Head Constable to Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI): 02; Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) to Sub-Inspector: 21; Sub-Inspector to Inspector: 49

The event was attended by senior officers of Delhi Police, the retiring personnel receiving honorary ranks and their family members, making it a memorable and proud occasion for all present.
