PIB Organises Swachhta Hi Seva 2026 Activities at National Media Centre

Tree plantation, collective cleanliness drive and felicitation of sanitation workers held to promote environmental responsibility and hygiene

New Delhi, October 1: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) organised a series of activities at the National Media Centre (NMC), PIB Headquarters, as part of the Swachhta Hi Seva 2026 campaign, with a focus on cleanliness, sanitation, environmental sustainability and recognition of sanitation workers.

As part of the campaign, a tree plantation drive was organised at the NMC on September 30 under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. The activity aimed to encourage environmental sustainability and contribute to increasing green cover through collective participation.

The plantation drive also highlighted the importance of nurturing trees and protecting the environment as a shared responsibility.

Cleanliness Drive at NMC

On October 1, PIB officials and employees participated in a cleanliness drive under the ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ initiative.

The drive focused on the cleanliness and upkeep of the National Media Centre premises and encouraged officers and officials to contribute towards maintaining a clean and hygienic workplace.

The activity also reinforced the importance of sanitation, hygiene and collective responsibility in advancing the objectives of the Swachh Bharat initiative.

Safai Mitras Felicitated

A felicitation ceremony for Safai Mitras, Swachhagrahis and sanitation workers was also organised at the NMC.

The ceremony recognised their dedicated efforts and contribution towards maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at the workplace. The initiative highlighted the importance of acknowledging the role played by sanitation workers in creating and maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment.

The activities were led by the Principal Director General, PIB, with participation from officers and officials of the organisation.

The series of programmes reaffirmed PIB’s commitment to the objectives of Swachhta Hi Seva 2026 and promoted a culture of cleanliness, environmental responsibility and collective participation.
