Patna : In a powerful address following the brutal terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday assured the nation that the perpetrators will not escape justice, declaring that India will “pursue the terrorists to the end of the earth.” The Prime Minister’s remarks came in the aftermath of the deadly April 22 assault, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists and left several others injured, sparking nationwide outrage and grief.
Speaking at a public event in Bihar, PM Modi condemned the “dastardly act” and vowed that those responsible would face the full force of India’s resolve and capability. “The Pahalgam terror attack was not just an attack on civilians; it was an attack on humanity. The pain and anger of the nation are justified, and we will not rest until justice is served,” he said.
The Prime Minister further stated that the sacrifice of the victims will not go in vain and that their memory would be honoured through decisive and sustained action against terrorism. “India has changed. We do not tolerate terrorism nor do we spare those who shelter and promote it. We will go to any length to bring the culprits to justice,” he asserted.
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by PM Modi, had earlier reviewed the security situation and approved a series of retaliatory and strategic measures, including diplomatic steps to isolate Pakistan on the global stage. Investigations into the Pahalgam incident have reportedly revealed clear cross-border links, with initial intelligence indicating the involvement of Pakistan-based terror groups.
Following the CCS meeting, India also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and imposed restrictions on Pakistani nationals under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme, underscoring the seriousness of India’s response.
Meanwhile, global leaders and international organisations have expressed solidarity with India and condemned the attack in the strongest terms. Many have reiterated their support for India’s fight against terrorism and called for coordinated global efforts to dismantle terror networks.
