New Delhi, June 2,2024: The chairman of Buddhist Cultural Foundation (India) Bhante Dipankara Sumedho has said that in the present time, the only way to save the environment and social values is compassion. All the creatures and plants on this earth, including humans, play an important role in maintaining ecological balance. He said that to maintain life on earth, we have to have compassion towards all sentient beings and plants present in this universe.
Bhante Dipankar Sumedho was speaking as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the painting competition organized by
Om Sudha Kutumbakam Foundation on the theme of Environment and Women Empowerment in the auditorium of Durga Temple in Khureji in East Delhi today. Bhante Sumedho said that both mother and motherland are life givers, hence everyone must have feeling of respect and gratitude towards them. On this occasion, Bhante Sumedho also distributed prizes to the winners of the painting competition.
On this occasion, President of Om Sudha Kutumbkam Foundation Mrs Renu Sharma said that children of age groups of 4 to 11 years and 12 to 17 years participated in the competition. In 4 to 11 age group category, Navyam got first prize , Virat got second and Ms. Avni secured third prize, similarly in 12 to 17 age group category, Pramod got first, Ms. Avni got second and Ms. Janvi got third prize. The winning children were given cash prizes and certificates.
The program started with a beautiful dance performance on Saraswati Vandana by little girl Aaradhya Ranga.
The President of Sankalp Charitable Trust Dr. Sushma Vashishth, social worker Mr. Deepak Saraswat, painting competition jury members – Mrs. Shweta Rustagi and Ms. Anshika Anand, Senior Advisor of Om Sudha Kutumbakam Foundation Mr. Ashok Sharma, Vice President of the Foundation Mrs. Ritu Ranga, Public Relations Officer of the Foundation Mrs. Nisha Kakkar, Mr. Jawahar Ranga, Mr. Sunil Kumar Kakkar, Mrs. Kishori, Mrs. Kiran Juneja and Mrs. Shasta Ali were also present on the occasion.
