Dubai, August 18, 2026; Indian-origin finance professional Lakshmanan Meyyappan has earned a place in the Guinness World Records after qualifying as the world’s youngest male chartered accountant at just 16 years and 170 days of age.

Meyyappan completed his professional qualification in Dubai on June 30, 2021, according to Guinness World Records. Born on January 11, 2005, in India, he achieved the distinction while most students his age were still pursuing their secondary education.

The achievement came through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification, marking an exceptionally early entry into the world of professional finance and accounting.

Meyyappan later reflected on his unusual academic journey, recalling that at the age of 15 he had expected to pursue sporting achievements. Instead, within a year, he completed his ACCA qualification and went on to receive global recognition for his accomplishment.

He has credited the support of his teachers at PwC Academy Middle East for helping him reach the milestone.

Now 21, Meyyappan has developed his professional interests around investment analysis and financial markets. He is also known for his interest in watchmaking, pursuing the craft as a creative activity outside his professional work.

His Guinness achievement highlights the growing presence of young professionals from the Indian-origin community making their mark in specialised fields on the international stage.
