HIPA Celebrates 43rd Foundation Day, Former Directors Recall Institutional Journey

Former Directors General share experiences; HIPA stresses stronger capacity building and training for government officials

Gurugram: The Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Gurugram, celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day on Tuesday, bringing together former heads of the institution to commemorate its journey and contribution to public administration. Five former Directors General including R.S. Dalal, Shiv Raman Gaur, S.P. Gupta, Chandra Lekha Mukherjee and R.C. Bidhan attended the programme and shared their experiences of their association with HIPA. Former Directors General who could not attend the event in person conveyed their greetings and best wishes through online mode.

HIPA Director General Manoj Yadav welcomed the former Directors General and highlighted their contribution to strengthening the institution. During the programme, the former heads recalled their experiences and spoke about HIPA’s development and achievements over the years. Their insights provided the present officers and employees an opportunity to understand the institute’s institutional legacy, working approach and evolution. As a mark of respect and appreciation for their contribution, Manoj Yadav presented saplings to the former Directors General. The programme also highlighted HIPA’s 43-year journey, achievements and important role in the field of public administration.

Addressing the gathering, Manoj Yadav said HIPA’s role in capacity building and training of officers and employees of the Haryana government needs to be strengthened further. He said the institute should continue to develop as an excellent and leading capacity-building centre, with training programmes being regularly improved to meet changing administrative requirements. He also appreciated the efforts of former Directors General in laying a strong foundation for HIPA and said their experience and guidance remain a valuable institutional asset. The celebration provided an opportunity to recall HIPA’s institutional heritage, learn from the experiences of its former leadership and reaffirm the commitment to taking the institute to new heights in the future.
