The opposition and the Bharatiya Janata Party are said to be locked in a war of words after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena agreed to file charges under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against author Arundhati Roy and former Kashmiri professor Sheikh Shaukat Hussain for allegedly delivering provocative speeches at an event in New Delhi in 2010. The FIR against Arundhati Roy and Sheikh Shaukat Hussain was registered on the orders of the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of New Delhi, Raj Niwas officials said on Friday.
