Railways and Engineering Officers Called Key to India’s Growth Vision

New Delhi, April 20, 2026: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday interacted with probationary officers of Indian Railways and Assistant Executive Engineers of the Central Engineering Service at Rashtrapati Bhavan, highlighting their critical role in shaping the country’s development journey.

Addressing officers from recent batches, the President said they are entering public service at a crucial phase when India is advancing towards the vision of a developed nation. She emphasised that their responsibilities will directly influence the lives of millions and contribute to improving overall quality of life.

Underscoring the importance of infrastructure, she noted that railways and highways are not just modes of transport but powerful tools for economic growth, social inclusion and national integration.
