Mumbai, September 14, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR in connection with the death of Disha Salian, former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, following a direction from the Bombay High Court for a detailed investigation into the case.
Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, days before Rajput was found dead at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Her death had initially been recorded as an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
The Bombay High Court had directed the CBI to register an FIR and investigate the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death. During an earlier hearing, a Division Bench of Justice Bharti Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande raised concerns over the registration of only an ADR despite allegations by Salian’s family that she had been murdered.
The court also noted that copies of Salian’s post-mortem report and ADR had not been provided to her family even years after her death.
Following the court’s order, Salian’s father, Satish Salian, said he had shared details of the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death with investigators and expressed confidence that the proceedings would begin soon.
He said he had provided investigators with the names of several people whom he wanted authorities to examine, including Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea and certain bodyguards.
“The truth cannot be defeated. God stands where the truth is; that is why justice will be served,” Satish Salian said.
The CBI investigation has also drawn attention from Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti, who recently welcomed the probe and expressed hope that it would help establish the truth.
In a social media post, Shweta said truth could be suppressed or troubled for some time but could not ultimately be defeated. She said the CBI inquiry into Salian’s death had renewed hope among many of Rajput’s followers.
