The Impressive TimesNEW DELHI, 10March, 2025: The law and order situation in Delhi has completely collapsed under BJP’s “double-engine” government, with criminals operating fearlessly and broad daylight murders becoming routine. On Monday at 5 AM, a young man was shot dead on the streets of Ghazipur, exposing the failure of the administration despite Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s joint meeting with Delhi’s Chief Minister and the police.
With BJP in power, Delhi’s people continue to feel unsafe as incidents of murder, robbery, and theft occur daily. However, instead of addressing the rising crime, CM Rekha Gupta and the BJP remain silent, their sole focus being relentless attacks on Arvind Kejriwal.
On this, senior AAP leader and Kondli MLA, Kuldeep Kumar, on Monday lashed out at the BJP’s so called “double-engine” government, calling it out for completely failing to maintain law and order in Delhi. Speaking at a press conference at the party headquarters, he said, “Despite BJP’s rule at both the Centre and the MCD, criminals continue to operate fearlessly in the national capital. Even after Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a joint meeting with the Delhi Chief Minister and Delhi Police over law and order, the situation has only worsened. Delhi’s residents feel unsafe under BJP’s governance.”
Referring to the shocking murder in East Delhi’s Ghazipur, he pointed out how criminals have become bolder. “On Monday morning, at 5 AM, a young man was shot dead in the open. The BJP’s double-engine government has created an environment where criminals have no fear of the law.”
The AAP MLA added that instead of ensuring safety, both the BJP government and CM Rekha Gupta remain completely silent on the rising crime. He criticised CM Rekha Gupta’s inability to ensure public safety, further adding, “Under BJP rule, Delhi has witnessed daily incidents of murder, robbery, and theft. The BJP and Delhi Police have contributed to the deterioration of law and order in the city.”
Kuldeep Kumar further questioned the BJP’s governance, highlighting public outrage over the worsening situation. “What exactly is the so-called double-engine government doing to protect Delhi’s citizens? After Monday’s murder, tension and anger have gripped the Ghazipur area, yet the BJP remains indifferent. Instead of addressing law and order, their focus is only on attacking Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.
The AAP MLA reiterated AAP’s demand for a safe environment in Delhi, stressing that citizens should not have to live in fear. “The AAP demands that Delhi’s people be given a secure atmosphere where they can live without fear. No one should feel unsafe while coming to the city,” he said.
Questioning the Chief Minister’s inaction, he asked, “CM Rekha Gupta must answer—how will the people of Delhi get justice? If murders continue to happen in broad daylight, how will the fear among citizens ever subside.”
The AAP MLA said that he would take the matter directly to the Chief Minister. “I will lead a delegation from the Kondli constituency to meet CM Rekha Gupta and demand immediate action to fix Delhi’s law and order. I will also write to her seeking an appointment to discuss this issue. Just last week, in Ghazipur’s Paper Market and Dallupura, an individual committed two murders,” he stated.
