Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal Inaugurates Online Registration Facility for Pharmacy Council

Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council Launches Online Registration System

Raipur, September 4, 2024 — The Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council has introduced a new online registration system, marking a significant improvement in the way pharmacy professionals and students manage their registrations. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal officially inaugurated the system, which aims to simplify the registration and renewal processes for pharmacists across the state.

Before this upgrade, pharmacy graduates and existing pharmacists had to make the journey to the council office in Raipur for both initial registration and renewal of their licenses. This often involved considerable travel and time, particularly for those residing in more remote districts. The new online system is designed to alleviate these challenges, offering a more convenient and accessible solution.

With the new online registration facility, applicants can now complete their registration and renewal applications through a digital platform from the comfort of their homes or offices. After submitting their online applications, they will only need to visit the council office once for document verification. This change is expected to significantly reduce the need for repeated trips to Raipur, saving time and reducing the associated costs for applicants.

During the launch event, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal emphasized the benefits of the online system, noting that it will greatly ease the administrative burden on applicants. He highlighted the crucial role pharmacists play in the healthcare system, describing them as a vital link between doctors and patients. Pharmacists are responsible for ensuring the correct medication and dosage are provided, underscoring the importance of an efficient and streamlined registration process.

Currently, the state has around 33,300 registered pharmacists. These professionals are engaged in various activities including running retail and wholesale drug stores, operating drug manufacturing facilities, and teaching at pharmacy institutions. The new online registration system is expected to benefit this large and diverse group by providing a more streamlined approach to managing their professional credentials.

The introduction of the online registration system is part of a broader effort by the Chhattisgarh government to modernize administrative processes and enhance service delivery. By embracing digital solutions, the Pharmacy Council aims to improve efficiency and reduce delays in the registration process. The shift to an online system reflects a commitment to leveraging technology to better serve the needs of the pharmacy community.

The updated system also aligns with broader trends in governance and public service, where digital tools are increasingly being used to simplify and enhance administrative functions. The online platform not only makes the registration process more convenient but also helps the council manage its operations more effectively.

In summary, the launch of the online registration facility by the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council represents a significant advancement in the administration of pharmacy-related tasks. It provides a modern and efficient solution that will benefit pharmacy students and professionals throughout the state, contributing to a more effective and accessible healthcare system. This development underscores the ongoing efforts to improve public service through technological innovation and streamlined processes.
