New Delhi, September 11, 2025 – Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah  virtually inaugurated the Fast Track Immigration–Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar airports, expanding the facility to 13 airports nationwide.

Shah said the initiative reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Speed, Scale, and Scope,” providing travellers with a seamless immigration experience while reinforcing national security. The programme was first launched in 2024 at Delhi and later extended to Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Ahmedabad.

With FTI-TTP, passengers can skip long queues and manual checks, completing immigration clearance in just 30 seconds. Shah urged integration of enrolment with passport and OCI card issuance to ensure maximum participation and convenience.

The Home Minister revealed that about 3 lakh travellers have registered, with 2.65 lakh already using the service. He emphasized expanding outreach so that all Indian citizens and OCI cardholders can benefit.

Highlighting India’s rising global connectivity, Shah noted that international passenger traffic rose 60% from 5.07 crore in 2014 to 8.12 crore in 2024, underscoring the need for faster, technology-driven immigration solutions.

Applicants register online at https://ftittp.mha.gov.in, submit documents, and provide biometrics at an FRRO or airport. At departure or arrival, travellers scan their boarding pass and passport at an e-Gate, where biometric verification automatically opens the gate for instant clearance.

Shah concluded that FTI-TTP enhances both traveller convenience and national security, and will soon be integrated at Navi Mumbai and Jewar airports, marking another step toward a modern, efficient border control system.
