Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to engage in talks with his Bangladesh counterpart, Sheikh Hasina, today in New Delhi. The discussions between the two leaders aim to invigorate bilateral relations, with both countries expected to sign several agreements covering various issues. Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi for a two-day visit to India, during which, besides meeting Prime Minister Modi, she is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Yesterday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held discussions with Sheikh Hasina on bilateral matters. Dr. Jaishankar underscored the significance of Sheikh Hasina’s state visit to India, highlighting the enduring closeness of their nations. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized Bangladesh’s crucial role as a trusted neighbor and key partner of India, expressing confidence that Prime Minister Hasina’s visit will further strengthen their esteemed bilateral partnership.
Sheikh Hasina was among the prominent leaders from India’s neighborhood and the Indian Ocean region who attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi and the Union Council of Ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 9.
