Mumbai, August 19, 2026; Actor Soha Ali Khan has spoken about her decision to limit the presence of her daughter Inaaya on social media, saying that protecting a child’s privacy has become increasingly important in today’s digital environment.
Soha said that she and her husband, actor Kunal Kemmu, were more comfortable sharing pictures of Inaaya when she was younger. However, as their daughter has grown up, the couple has reassessed how much of her personal life should be made public.
The actor explained that earlier social media practices do not necessarily have to continue indefinitely. According to Soha, parents can change their approach as circumstances evolve and children become more aware of their own privacy.
She also highlighted the possibility of photographs being misused once they are placed online. Soha said that children should have a say in decisions involving their personal images and that their consent and privacy deserve consideration even when they are too young to fully understand the implications.
For Soha, the decision is not about keeping Inaaya completely away from public attention. The child is occasionally photographed by paparazzi, but the couple has chosen to exercise greater caution when it comes to deliberately sharing her pictures online.
Kunal Kemmu has also previously spoken about raising their daughter with independence and allowing her to experience life on her own terms. He said he wants Inaaya to explore different activities, travel and make the most of her childhood.
Speaking about paparazzi attention, Kunal said that it has gradually become part of their lives. He acknowledged that the attention had become uncomfortable at times, particularly when photographers used long-range lenses without the family being aware of it.
At the same time, Kunal noted that photographers have generally respected the family’s requests for privacy when asked to give them space.
Soha and Kunal married in January 2015 and welcomed Inaaya in September 2017. The couple has increasingly kept details of their daughter’s private life away from their public social media presence, reflecting their broader approach towards protecting her privacy as she grows up.
