New Delhi- Northern Railway General Manager Rajesh Kumar Pandey administered the cleanliness pledge to officers and employees at Northern Railway Headquarters, Baroda House, as part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2026.
Addressing the gathering, Pandey stressed the importance of making cleanliness a regular part of daily life. He also highlighted that maintaining clean surroundings is a collective responsibility that requires active participation from everyone.
As part of the programme, the General Manager also participated in a tree plantation activity to underline the importance of environmental conservation.

He emphasised that efforts to promote cleanliness should go hand in hand with greater awareness about protecting the environment.
The programme was attended by Additional General Manager, Northern Railway, Harsh Khare, along with Principal Heads of Departments, senior officers and employees.
Under Swachhata Pakhwada, Northern Railway is conducting a range of activities across its offices, railway stations and other premises.
The initiatives aim to raise awareness about cleanliness, encourage responsible participation and strengthen efforts towards environmental conservation.
The campaign reinforces the message that maintaining clean public spaces and protecting the environment require sustained participation from railway employees as well as the wider community.
