New Delhi, August 7: The Delhi Laxmi Yojana received an overwhelming response on Friday as thousands of women gathered outside the Delhi Assembly to welcome Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ahead of the Monsoon Session. The women felicitated the Chief Minister with flower garlands and traditional drum beats, thanking the Delhi Government for launching the welfare scheme aimed at empowering women across the national capital.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Delhi Laxmi Yojana is more than a financial assistance programme and represents the government’s commitment to ensuring dignity, self-reliance and economic security for women. She said the initiative is expected to positively impact lakhs of families by creating greater opportunities for women.

The Chief Minister assured beneficiaries that the government is committed to ensuring every eligible woman receives the scheme’s benefits through a transparent, simple and time-bound process. She added that officials have been instructed to make the application process smooth and hassle-free so that no eligible applicant faces any difficulty.

Rekha Gupta also reiterated the Delhi Government’s commitment to introducing more initiatives focused on women’s safety, education, dignity and financial empowerment. She said the trust and support shown by women would continue to motivate the government to work for their welfare.

The popularity of the Delhi Laxmi Yojana continues to grow, with official figures showing that 457,541 women had registered under the scheme by 8 a.m. on Friday, while 172,940 applications had been successfully submitted, highlighting strong public participation in the programme.
