New Delhi, 17 June 2026 : To mark 12 years of the Central Government under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Delhi Government is undertaking a large-scale cleanliness campaign across the national capital. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the initiative aims to strengthen public participation, promote civic responsibility, and further the vision of a clean and developed India through a sustained people’s movement for cleanliness and community engagement.
As part of this campaign, Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa participated in and led a cleanliness drive in the Model Town Assembly constituency. Local MLA Ashok Goel, councillors,and a large number of local residents were present on the occasion.

During the campaign, Manjinder Singh Sirsa joined citizens in cleaning parks and public spaces and encouraged them to adopt cleanliness as a shared civic responsibility. He said, “Along with public welfare, the government places special emphasis on cleanliness. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, an extensive cleanliness campaign is being carried out across Delhi with active participation from ministers, legislators, councillors and citizens.”
Highlighting the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Minister said, “The 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure symbolize development, trust and public welfare. The Prime Minister firmly believes that a Developed India can only be achieved through a Clean India. Under prime Minister Narendra Modi leadership, cleanliness has evolved into a nationwide people’s movement, inspiring citizens across the country to actively contribute towards nation-building. As part of these celebrations, prayers are being offered at gurdwaras, temples and other religious places for the nation’s continued progress and for the Prime Minister’s good health and long life.”

Appealing to the participants, the Environment Minister said, “The dream of a Clean India can only be realized when both the government and society collectively take responsibility for maintaining a clean environment. The government urges citizens to actively contribute towards keeping parks, roads and public spaces clean.”

Speaking about the upcoming tree plantation initiative, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “A large-scale tree plantation campaign will be launched in Delhi under which 70 lakh saplings will be planted. The objective of the campaign is to strengthen public participation in environmental conservation and create a greener, healthier capital. Citizens will be able to register their interest through a dedicated portal, after which the government will provide designated locations and schedules for plantation activities. We are confident that residents across Delhi will participate enthusiastically and contribute towards making the capital cleaner, greener and more sustainable.”
